Preferred Media Formats

Many forms of original media can take advantage of the AV equipment – documents, photos, music, videos/movies. The common electronic media used for these are CD/DVD/Blu-Ray discs, USB sticks, or laptops with MS Powerpoint (PPTX), which are all to be supplied by the tutor. Powerpoint presentations are the easiest way to display and play mixed media.

  • Music: Preferred file formats are MP3, WM4, AAC
  • Video: Preferred file formats are AVI, MKV, WMV, MP4, MOV (Quicktime)

The preferred connection from a laptop to a TV is an HDMI cable (supplied with each TV). Although most TVs also have VGA connections it is difficult to access these if they are mounted on a wall.
